Tax Evaders, Abettors Won’t Be Left Unpunished: PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vowed that tax evaders and those aiding them will face strict legal action. Addressing the nation, he emphasized the government’s commitment to enforcing tax laws and ensuring accountability across all sectors.
The Prime Minister highlighted that failure to pay taxes undermines national development and public services, and that authorities are empowered to investigate, prosecute, and penalize violators. This move is part of broader efforts to improve revenue collection and strengthen financial governance in Pakistan.
Officials noted that tax compliance campaigns will be intensified, with collaboration between the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and law enforcement agencies to identify and act against evasion networks. Analysts believe that sustained enforcement could enhance public trust and encourage voluntary compliance.
PM Shehbaz urged citizens and businesses to fulfill their tax obligations, stressing that transparency and accountability are essential for economic stability and growth.
