Karachi Board Warns Students Against Fake Websites
Karachi – The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has issued a public warning to students and parents about the rise of fake websites and social media pages that are misusing the board’s name. The statement, released on Monday, cautioned that such platforms are misleading students with false information about exam schedules, results, and admissions.
According to officials, several fraudulent websites have recently surfaced, claiming to offer “early access” to results or guaranteed exam tips in exchange for money. The board has stressed that all authentic information is only available on its official website and verified communication channels.
“Students and their families must remain vigilant. Do not fall prey to scammers. The board does not operate through unofficial portals or third-party agents,” a BSEK spokesperson clarified.
The warning comes ahead of the upcoming examination season, when anxiety among students often leads to higher chances of exploitation. The board has urged parents and schools to educate students about online safety and to double-check all notices against the official website.
Legal action is also being considered against the individuals or groups behind these fake platforms. The cybercrime wing of the FIA has reportedly been contacted to investigate the matter.
Education experts believe this trend reflects a broader problem of digital misinformation in Pakistan, where fake news and fraudulent sites can spread rapidly due to limited awareness.
The board has reassured students that strict monitoring measures are being put in place and reminded them to rely solely on official notifications for all academic updates.
